How to Wear White in Winter
All magazines and stylists are saying that wearing white in winter is more than okay now but I am still receiving many questions from my clients asking me for tips on how wear white in winter. In my opinion winter white is a great choice when you don’t want to commit to a colour but you still want to look dramatic and it’s much easier than you think.
The most important rule to remember that winter white is all about texture. So leave your white linen and breezy clothes for summer and go fur chunky knitwear and layers to create as much texture to your outfit as possible.
Head to toe white outfits in winter look especially sophisticated. So if you are aiming for a very dramatic look it’s a good idea to mix different textures (think silk combined with knits) and various shades of white (if the shades match exactly you might end up looking like a nurse). Also it’s very important to avoid bare, summery footgear (strappy high heels, open-toe sandals, flip-flops) which will make you look that you forgot what season is now or worse that you can’t afford winter boots.
The easiest way to introduce white to your winter wardrobe is to buy a white knit dress. Pair it with pastel accessories and you will have a perfect outfit when you need to dress up a little.
The most popular way to wear white this season is to wear white jeans. It looks very trendy, chic and it’s perfect for casual days. Replace your black biker jacket with a white one for a modern and youthful look.
If you don’t want to wear head to toe white, pair it with grey, beige or nude. It’s less dramatic but still very beautiful.
If you want to look effortlessly chic and glamorous go for a pair of wide white trousers and pair it with a loose jumper.
While everyone is wearing black, why not go polar opposite?
